If you have long hair please bring a hairband.

During your treatment…

You can expect light to firm pressure during your massage, but ‘no pain no gain’ does not really apply here. Instead, we are aiming to move gradually through warm, relaxed fascia and muscles, for happy endorphins, and more radiant nourished skin.

Ella understands its not easy to be assertive when you are having a massage, but please remember that everyone has different comfort thresholds, so it’s not always possible to intuit what you are thinking or feeling. The pressure, towel draping, room temperature, music volume and lighting are all there to make you comfortable, so please don’t be shy to speak up if adjustments are needed.

After your massage…

Stay hydrated. Drink water or herbal tea such as chamomile or peppermint. Avoid alcohol, and caffeine.

You might feel sleepy or need some time alone. Its a normal, so go with the flow!

You may feel a bit achy afterwards - especially if you have not had a massage in a long time, or needed deeper work. This should clear within 48 hours. A warm bath or shower can work wonders.

Gentle exercise - yoga, tai chi or qi gong are great ways to get your body moving. YOQI and Yoga with Adrienne offer free, bite-sized videos.

Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or feedback about your treatment.
